About · The founders

We're not tradies. Here's why that's a good thing.

Every competitor says they understand your business because they ARE tradies. We can't win that fight — and we don't need to. We're outsiders who actually listened, built something that works, and have nothing to hide.

  • Honesty
  • No lock-in
  • Simple
  • Transparent

Systems · Engineering

Ran kitchens for a decade. 400 covers, half the staff, middle of a heatwave — nothing got dropped. That's not cooking. That's systems under pressure. Now he builds the systems that do the same thing for trade businesses.

Why we built Freetide

Our best mates are tradies.

That's the whole story.

Sparkies. Concreters. Chippies. We've watched them miss calls on-site, spend their Sundays chasing quotes that go nowhere, and lose jobs to blokes with worse work but better Google reviews.

We built Freetide because we were sick of watching good tradies get beaten by bad systems. Not because we thought tradies needed more software — because we saw smart, hard-working people losing jobs to problems that shouldn't exist in 2026.

The trades aren't a small corner of the economy. In Australia it's a $141.8B market — 2.7 million homeowners and tradies finding each other every year. That gap, between how good these businesses are and the tools they're handed, is the whole reason we exist.

A work ute parked outside a workshop at dusk
A trade business workflow mapped on a workshop whiteboard
Late-night trade paperwork under a work lamp
Work tools set down at the end of the day
Missed calls while on the tools
Hours wasted on people who were never going to book
No reviews even though the work was great
Paying for ads with no idea what was working
We don't know how to pour a slab. But we know how to make sure the bloke who does never misses another job.
